Three steps to a smoother monthly board cycle

Aprio agenda builder: a timed board meeting agenda with the meeting materials attached to each item

1The board packet builds in minutes

Aprio lets you attach each department report to its agenda item and notify directors in one click. When one changes the night before, you replace it. Nobody stitches a giant PDF again.

“Aprio is easy to use and provides a convenient way to keep board materials organized and accessible in one place.”Randi S., Chief of Staff

Extremely Happy with Aprio

We have an older Board, so it was important for us to choose a software program that was easy to understand and user-friendly. Aprio made sense from the beginning, and the layout and functionality were straightforward.

Questions bank boards ask us

Is Aprio a good board portal for banks?
Yes. Aprio is the board portal community banks in the US use to build the monthly board packet, keep minutes, votes and signatures together, and have the record ready for the exam. Every feature comes at one price, with 24/7 human support. The loan committee, the holding company board and the trust committee each get their own space, seen only by the people you add, and Canadian banks can choose Canadian hosting.
What does it cost?
Aprio’s plan includes every feature, quoted per organization and itemized, so your board approves it once with no add-ons appearing in year two. Pricing is the first thing we cover in the demo. Book the demo and you’ll have your number, or see how Aprio pricing works.
How hard is it to switch to Aprio?
Aprio gives you guided support to help you switch over, so you won’t do it alone. You set up your board, and Aprio’s onboarding team (former board administrators themselves) works through it with you one-on-one, planned around your next board cycle and clear of quarter end. Training for you and every director is included.
Will every director actually use it?
Some boards still have a director who asks for the packet on paper. Aprio gives each director a one-on-one training session. The monthly packet and the quarter-end board book open on a laptop, tablet or phone, even offline, and the night-before call reaches a real person 24/7.
What will our examiner look at in the minutes and the packet?
Whether your primary federal regulator is the OCC, the Federal Reserve or the FDIC, with your state banking department alongside for a state charter, the exam looks at how the board works. The Federal Reserve’s exam procedures have examiners read the minutes of every board meeting since the last examination and review a sample board packet; the OCC’s can also check whether packets arrive in advance and cover key risks. Some approvals have to show in the minutes too: the FDIC’s and the OCC’s rules require the board’s approval of the BSA compliance program to be noted there. In Aprio, each meeting archives by date with its packet, attendance, votes and signed minutes, so the record from one exam to the next builds up together. For the exam cycle and what examiners pull, see our guide to what examiners expect from your minutes.
Where is our data stored?
Aprio stores your data in your choice of Canada or the United States, on certified infrastructure (ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type 2). Banks and trust companies that choose Canada have Canadian hosting guaranteed in the agreement.
Does Aprio work for Canadian banks?
Yes. Aprio works for Canadian banks: your board and committees can run on it, with hosting in Canada guaranteed in your agreement when you choose Canada. OSFI’s supervisory work includes a review of board and committee material, and the Bank Act requires the bank to keep the minutes of its directors’ and committees’ meetings. Aprio keeps each meeting’s board package and minutes together by date. For the third-party risk review your bank runs on vendors under OSFI’s Guideline B-10, Aprio is ISO 27001 certified and SOC 2 Type 2 audited.
